my RNG must be messed up

Im trying to get the cosmic car keys, but any time I kill the martian saucer, I dont get it. But i do know i have killed it enough for the keys is because i have 3 trophies, but no keys.

Blaming the “flawed” RNG is a pitfall a lot of players fall into. Just keep trying, it’s statistically unlikely but it doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

These are arbitrary numbers, and only exist as an example.

A 1/100 drop rate is equal to a 1% drop rate. However, 1/100 is not a garuntee that you will obtain the item within 100 attempts. It simply means that you will have a persistent 1% chance to obtain the item each attempt. As such, an item with a 1/100 (1%) drop rate could potentially take you +1,000 attempts.

ohhh that makes sense

If you have killed 100 saucers and they dropped none, and assuming the 1% chance from the prior example, you would have a (99/100)^100 or ~36.6% chance of such unluck. Now, if every one had dropped a key it would have been a (1/100)^100 or ERROR [my calculator can’t handle the number but I think it is 1e-10000% chance].

RNG can be a pain to deal with. There's nothing wrong with the code however. Maybe it's just because bad luck but everyone has been there once (The Rod of Discord for instance). I hope you're able to get it though. Keep trying!@

I’m not a math dude, but statistically speaking 1% means 1 in every 100, so the first numbers seem a little off. And having a negative percentage isn’t possible.

You don’t know how exponents work do you? 1e-100 is 1%, 1e-10000 is 0.01% so my math was off it would be 1e-10000000… [idk the actually number but it ends up with a percent that is infinitesimal].

note that the saucer only have 6 main loots so the expected number of killing to earn all of them is 6*(1/6+1/5+1/4+1/3+1/2+1/1)=14.7. and the chance of missing at least 1 item after like 30 rounds is only 38685039881460445519/1535235553616203874304=2.5%
not a number enough to challenge the correctness of the game itself, but anyone should admit that you are pretty unlucky

however as you didn't post the actual killing number there is chance that you just got pretty "lucky" dropping more trophies than usual

There is the alternative such as the witches broom and if you are angry about one you can try the other.
