For some reason, the nurse is trying to heal the cat, the cat is not affected by it, even though she keeps trying to heal it.
That means that she will be infinitely healing...

Can you give me more information? The nurse was able to heal the cat when I tested it.

I think she's practising to be an veterinarian.

Could another buff (Dryad Defense buff/Bast Statue) affect the Nurse's ability to heal?

Just wanted to add that I've seen this same bug a couple of times in a recent playthrough. I put the town cat in the Nurse's house, and at least twice, when the cat is injured, I've noticed her throwing a constant stream of syringes at it with no effect. I'm not sure if the syringes are missing the cat or passing through it.

I'm playing the Steam version, single player, Win10, 1.4.0.5, Keyboard/Mouse.

Edit: Just saw it happen again, and I think the Nurse is throwing the syringes over the cat.
