Plantera's bulb not spawning

Just as the title says. I've been trying to kill Plantera on an expert world for days but once I kill all three mechanical bosses, nothing happens - I've made three expert mode worlds and killed all three mechanical bosses in each world but no matter how long I wait it doesn't spawn and I don't get the message "the jungle grows restless" so if anyone else has this problem and knows how to fix it please let me know.

The world has to be in hardmode for the "the jungle grows restless" message to appear, and for plantera bulbs to start spawning. If you kill the wall of flesh after killing the 3 mechanical bosses then you will get the message.
