Okay so hear me out. (i took this from wikipedia i do NOT do drugs)
So we all know Shimmer is a liquid. It's obvious. Pretty much any type of drug can come in the form of liquid. Shimmer makes your character phase through blocks- wouldn't that kind of feel like a hallucination, but real? A stimulating experience, like with many other types of drugs, but with the added thrill of knowing it's actually happening to you? Like LSD but better. But it would probably make you feel a bit nauseous- like LSD. Shimmer is also very bright in color like the hallucinations brought on by LSD and similar drugs. There are also gem trees in certain natural Shimmer spawns. Gem = Crystal = Crystal meth = drugs. So like, could Shimmer, in Terraria canon, be used as a drug that sort of combines the effects of real ones???
