Whenever I equip something in the social accessory slot, such as the Crimson Cloak, it doesn't appear on my character unless I do not have a chest peice in the equipment slot or I have something in the social slot for the chest, such as a Snow Coat. I can't place it in the social slot that is between the chest armor and the chest dye slot. Whether or not the accessory for that social slot is visible or not doesn't seem to matter.
Unfortunately, the Crimson Cloak is the only social accessory that I have at the moment, so I can't test any of the others. The things like the Plumber's Hat, OX33's Aviators, and Fox Ears all appear normally, though they aren't social accessories.
