I would like it if you could make a sort of item vault that, once available in game, would replace the need for creating rooms of just row upon row of chests.
What I'm imagining isn't anything like the piggy bank or safe but something that essentially marks where it's placed as your main base. It would be a furniture container to hold items like an ordinary chest but large and unwieldy so you have to plan where you put it (something like 6x6 or even bigger). But, unlike chests this container would have infinite storage space and would open something similar to the journey mode duplication window with tabs and a search bar to find your items in it easier.
In my personal experience as a videogame hoarder, the chest storage situation doesn't tend to get to out-of-hand until some time into hardmode. So perhaps, if implemented, it could be crafted using hallowed bars and/or the cogs sold by the steampunker, making it a post-mechanical item.
