Texture pack troubles

so today I've been trying without success to get texture packs to work and ive come to the conclusion with help from a discord group that my problem was winrar for some reason. id really not want to get rid of it as i use the programme to mod other games like payday. anyone have any workarounds so i dont have to uninstall?

How exactly are you adding the packs to the game? The old way or the new way?

dont know all the ways but im putting the zip folder into terraria's folder with the experimental features thing set to true. ive got it done now but ive uninstalled winrar

Try forcing actual zip compression. You could always use other tools, such as 7-Zip or PeaZip.
