unable to set key-binds then game freezes

in game i try to change my key-binds but when i click on it it instantly changes to 'volumemute' then my game doesn't let me click anything, i can still move my cursor and the game continues in the background but when i click on the back button but nothing happens. can anyone help
 
This has sort of happened to me. When I try to change a keybind it just sets it to 'no key' and then my mouse pointer is unable to click on anything and I have to Alt-F4 out of the game.
I am using TModLoader and binding modded actions, but if somebody else is having the problem then it may also be vanilla?

did you manage to fix it? i have uninstalled and reinstalled
