    Actually, it is kind of the opposite. Heroes are defined as those who are admired for their brave deeds and noble qualities and has performed heroic acts. That means all you need to be to be a hero is to do something like rescuing a basket full of kittens and giving them a home. Basis being, there's too much people like that in the world for all of them to be remembered for a long time.

    Whereas a Legend is one that has performed incredible feats, good or bad, that are enough to have, for example, countless stories handed down many generations. An example of a legend would be Genghis Khan. Sure, his actions were ruthless and barbaric, but he united a whole country filled with petty tribes and ended up conquering much of Asia. That is an incredible feat.
