I wish paint in Starbound was as versatile and easy to use as paint in Terraria.
Even just being able to do background and foreground separately would be helpful for stuff like platforms.
Though being able to paint furniture there would be great.

I think I figured out the cause of having both eyes be visible with the protodragon... and I'm pretty sure that cause is Murder Drones.
