Well, my first programming language was Java, and Java is very similar to C#. So it probably took me an hour or two to get familiar with the syntax and stuff of C#, then I learned the rest of what I know through experience while modding.
Now, to learn Java, I took a class at high-school to learn about object-oriented programming, then I just went and made my own games, learning through experience.
