Because of the arbitrary 'Can't buy properties until you first pass go' rule, there wasn't really any way to get anywhere.

You shoulda asked the people to ignore the "Go to Jail" tile on the first trip around the board, if you're not permitted to buy any property on the first trip.

Well, not like I can convince them to go against the norm.
It's just that you don't really expect to land on the jail tile 3 times in a row. I sooner expected to win the lottery, not that I play it.

I've always been a firm believer that in any game associated with dice, there are the times when the dice are anti-fun and that a dice roll should be altered when extreme ridiculous stuff (like hitting GtJ on the first time around, or 3x in a row). And if they're going to make a stupid arbitrary rule like "no property on first trip" then "no GtJ on first trip" makes just as much sense.
