I think that's why I love it. It kinda makes it even creepier because of how it illustrates how even if the neighbourhood is nice and "colourful", death and tradegy still happen. The style gives you this sort of false security, which when you find out it's false, makes it even scarier.
The plot twisting is at times daunting, but overall, I love the stories.
DiU isn't bad. I like Koichi. But Part 3 (Jotaru's Egypt Tour) is my sort of thing: flavorful characters on a journey far from home, fighting the odds, and coming out clean -- until the end, where the stakes are raised. And something is left behind as you journey home.
