1) Both Joel and Vinny are tired of people being like "haha GRAYUND DAYUD"
2) He's become more of a Siivagunner thing, and while Siiva uses Vinesauce memes very often, Grand Dad is never mentioned by the streamers unless somebody brings him up. In Siivagunner, however, he's one of the most important memes to both the channel and the fanbase.

Why am i having a mini-rant about this? Who knows? Not like it's gonna affect anything.

Even if Vinny or Joel say "STOP MENTIONING GRAND DAD" it's still gonna happen.

No worries, you made some great points right there. I can imagine it feeling strange if that stuff still warrants mention in the streams as a SiIva thing.
