And so's my RX580. Could I not get notifications for new drivers being available because I have the setting which automatically checks for them?

I would find a driver but I don’t want to deal with my pc possibly killing itself if the power goes out because thunderstorm. The power flickered as I was typing that..
Good thing I turned my pc not even 5 minutes ago.

I don't blame you. There could be times where it can jeopardize something in the system. One time got me losing my earliest Terraria save data.

I have an idea
There should be a small battery in the Power Supply unit so when the power goes out you have a short time to turn off your pc so it doesn’t crash.

Where inside would it be?

Near the power supply unit or maybe in it

A sound idea that can be tested and verified, even when it's likely that PSUs have built-in solutions should a power outage occur.

Like a warning would show on the screen saying “save your stuff and shut down/restart”

I think Win10 has stuff like that, if I recall correctly.
