I guess it would depend on why the kid shot the dad. Was it essentially a "hey I have a fun idea" shooting, because of the dad's beliefs, or was this a case of self defense? I mean, the motive is apparently the kid doing "what he thought was right", so I guess the 2nd option is the most likely
