..How is that ironic?

The avatar is peryite, daedric prince of pestilence in the elder scrolls universe, and it cured me.

That's not ironic. And it didn't cure you.

Why? I wasn`t sick anymore when I uploaded it.

You had a minor cold, hardly has to do with a fantastical creature of fatal plague and sickness. You can't get cured within a second, it happens overtime - The process began long before you probably even thought of uploading that avatar

I was only joking.

And I only came to say that it wasn't much of a joke.
