2am is a great time for console! The spear trap batteries aren't that critical in a horseman's blade farm, so the bug to actuated spear traps shouldn't be a major deal. You can keep the top layer of traps deactuated to at least dissipate the spear tips that move upwards.
If you want to see more drops, can you set to auto-pause on console? If so, you can open up inventory and trash the junk that drops.
