Attempt to get pierce up possibly? this should allow you to deal more damage past his armor. Also maybe go old school terraria and build an arena to fight the destroyer so you don't get hit. It'll take awhile to build,but it should pay off.

Nakano15 seems to be a small team all by himself, and if production were to,heaven forbid, stop at this moment it'd still be a fun experience to play through. Also Dra maybe the server file is leftover from Nakano attempting to fix it?

This bug has been reported many times and there have actually been people to find workarounds. just look back a couple of pages :3
