I ran to this super tiny problem after I defeated WoF, it kinda annoyed me.
(One question, was messages only appears when you open inventory is a intended feature?)

Try disabling off the tutorial from the settings menu, then you should have a chat bubble in its place, the developers are already working on patching the bug.
