As of 1.4, the Basilisk is able to double jump, which makes it suprisingly mobile:
However, it appears this double jump doesn't stack with other double jump accessoires, like the cloud- or blizzard in a bottle.
In case of the Cloud in a Bottle, it can only do it's own double jump.
In the case of the Blizzard in a Bottle, it can only do it's blizzard jump.
(And in case both are equipped, then only the blizzard and the cloud bottles works)
(I don't have a Sandstorm in a Bottle in journey mode yet, weh)
This is unlike the Unicorn mount, who's double jump can work along with an other double jump:
Although the unicorn is the only other mount with a double jump (AFAIK),
but I'm assuming all double jumps should be able to stack on each other.
