Game Mechanics Bestiary for fish

gonqi

Terrarian
Works like a regular bestiary, caught a fish - the bestiary is replenished. Caught a certain number of fish - new information appeared on where this fish can be caught.

This would be useful for collecting (you can add an achievement for catching a full collection) and so as not to remember where which fish are (personally, for me it is difficult)

(not sure how this would work exactly) but maybe there could also be a fish tank that the angler drops when you first spawn in (huge fish tank btw) and would slowly add each fish you caught, using new fish swimming while you fish animations? Would need to be big, but basically each fish in the catalogue could be displayed there

Will it also contain stuff about recommended fishing power in order to catch it
The highest bait power you can obtain will always be the recommended fishing power. There is no instance in the game where a lower fishing power would be recommended over a higher fishing power, and the only fish that requires a specific fishing power is Duke Fishron if I'm not mistaken.

Love this idea! Also like the idea of attaching an achievement to completing the fish bestiary as I am always looking for ways to extend my playtime in this great game.

Seems pretty cool. It could be added as one of the dialogue options for Angler after a quest, kinda like the "Crafting" thing the Guide has.
