Terrarian
So, I recently installed the tModLoader so I could get the Tremor, and Thorium mod. I understand, I have to make a backup file for Terraria, which I did, and even though I made one, all of my saves were completely gone. I tried to uninstall the mod, and now it just says on steam, "Failed to start game (missing executable)"
Would really like some assistance, if possible. Thanks.

Terraria and tModLoader use different folders for saves, because they're not compatible. You can't dynamically use one save file for both versions.
tModLoader overwrites the original Terraria.exe with the tModLoader version of it, which is what Steam executes when you press Play. Because you deleted it, Steam can no longer find that Terraria.exe and is throwing an error.
To fix this, either move the backup you made back to the folder and rename it to Terraria.exe, or just verify the game cache through Steam. That'll reinstall vanilla Terraria, and all your saves will be back as well.

Ah, thank you so much! All checked out well for me, thank you. So, is there a different way I'm supposed to install the mod, orrrr? I followed the instructions from a YouTube video.

No, the way you did it was fine. If you want to use vanilla worlds and players with tModLoader, simply copy the files from Documents/MyGames/Terraria/Worlds and Documents/MyGames/Terraria/Players to the respective folders in Documents/MyGames/Terraria/tModLoader (not sure if that's what it's called, but it should be something along those lines).

~Okay, so this time Terraria loaded up fine, but it still doesn't have all my saves, but I can actually create a new character, which when I tried to do that LAST time it just crashed my game.Ah, thank you so much! Is there any other help you could give me so that I could restore my save's, along with the mods being there? Thank you.

Yes, like I said, copying and pasting the vanilla save files (Documents/MyGames/Terraria/Worlds and Documents/MyGames/Terraria/Players) to the tModLoader folder (Documents/MyGames/Terraria/tModLoader/Worlds and Documents/MyGames/Terraria/tModLoader/Players) will enable them on tModLoader.
Or did you mean something else?

Personally I recommend leaving the original terraria.exe in place and naming the modified version something else (e.g. tModLoader.exe), that way you can easily access either the vanilla or modded game. But note that my experience is with the GOG version, I don't know if Steam will cause you trouble doing it this way.

All of your vanilla saves shouldn't be there when you have tModLoader's exe running. It keeps the files seperated. Now that you've run TML once, go to your Documents/MyGames/Terraria/ModLoader/Mods file and put all the mods you want in there. You can also copy your normal worlds/players to the Worlds and Players files inside Documents/MyGames/Terraria/ModLoader.~Okay, so this time Terraria loaded up fine, but it still doesn't have all my saves, but I can actually create a new character, which when I tried to do that LAST time it just crashed my game.

That's what I did, I named the modded terraria tModLoader and it still worked, well, in game launcher at least.Personally I recommend leaving the original terraria.exe in place and naming the modified version something else (e.g. tModLoader.exe), that way you can easily access either the vanilla or modded game.
