Xbox One Difficulty interacting with the world as host in splitscreen

Geoman265

Terrarian
As of the (somewhat) recent update, whenever we start splitscreen multiplayer, the host has difficulties interacting with the world, where their cursor has to be above the block they want to interact with (mine, place, etc.), almost like the grid is misaligned. This misalignment is easier to see when changing the zoom settings. This also affects interacting with npcs or doors, though does not have much effect in combat.

This seems to only occur in top-to-bottom splitscreen, not side-to-side. I do not know how this behaves with more than two people.

While we are able to fix this by using side-to-side splitscreen, we both prefer to use top-to-bottom.

Is it only side-to-side on PS4, or is it both side-to-side and top-to-bottom?
As far as i can tell it only affects the side-to-side splitscreen. Then again the top-to-bottom one doesn't really function properly without the PS4 crashing abruptly from an internal error related to the GPU on the console not handling that layout.

Ah. That's unfortunate. It sucks, because this glitch has really dampened my motivation to play the game.

a recommendation could be to use the multiplayer option over splitscreen and do console-to-console, you may require Xbox Live for multiplayer access, and if the friend/friends have a PS4 or PS5, then Playstation Plus is required for multiplayer access. cant speak much for the Nintendo Switch version, so idk what that version needs to use multiplayer.

I only play with my brother that I live with, so playing online isn't really an option without spending a bunch of money on another xbox.

Terraria is actually capable of multiplayer with other console platforms and all mobile platforms, as they all run the exact same game software (you might have noticed the xbox version has a new User Interface, it was actually the UI of the mobile version before it was later unified with the consoles) i can also say that console and mobile do work in multiplayer, i did testing on compatibility for when friends come over with their phones and they want to join my PS4 world.

I didn't know that. I'd still prefer to play in vertical splitscreen over mobile though. Thanks for the suggestion though
