Disappearing Objects?

Hi guys, sorry if I am posting in the wrong subforum.

I was making a little cheat in the game: copy my player data to put in other computer, because my player is a little stronger than the player my son has. We play online together and I was helping him have a better player to defeat some boss.
Somehow in the process my shadow bow disappeared. Its not on any chest, inventory, pig, etc....Could it be possible that the game, somehow deleted my object?

Its not the first time I suspect that objects vanish like this.

Any hint would be helpful. Thanks!
 
One thing I would suggest in future is directly giving items to your son instead of copying the player data of one of your own characters. Messing around with files isn't always gonna be reliable.
 
I've copied around player files and worlds before and have not had anything go missing. Were you holding the Shadow Bow with the cursor at the time you saved and quit (so it wasn't in your inventory)? Was it in the trash slot? Did you accidentally leave it on the ground? These items are removed when you save and quit.
