Assuming you are on a brand new account of Terraria with no achievements completed, then if consider beating Moon Lord as beating the game, what is the least number of achievements you could receive during this process. (Allow creating any number of new characters and worlds, as well as having any character hop between worlds, also assume the RNG is on your side and you can got any thing possible in-game, but no any third-party modification, like save editor, all-items save, mods, etc. Also, no multiplayer so that other player completes it for you)
Here is some of my ideas:
First, Boss achievements like: Boned, Still Hungry(and It's Hard!), Buckets of Bolts, The Great Southern Plantkill, Lihzahrdian Idol, Obsessive Devotion, Champion of Terraria are likely a must.
Then, some could simply miss, including defeating rare creatures, defeat optional bosses/events, any thing not discussed belongs to this catalog.
Next, some could require some effort or challenge to miss, but should be possible:
Benched/Heavy Metal: You can find natural work bench/anvil.
Timber!!: You can find wood in surface chests or find living trees.
No Hobo: Pretty difficult, but I think it should be possible if you protect the guide spawns.
Stop! Hammer Time!: You don't need a hammer anyways (you can get hardmode ores by fishing), just don't pickup WoF's loot and don't use journey mode character (not sure, by likely one could give this achievement)
Hold on Tight!: Put the hook in inventory could avoid this one.
Star Power: Just don't use magic weapons, not too difficult.
Ooo! Shiny!/Heart Breaker/Miner for Fire/Begone, Evil!/Extra Shiny!: Fishing could replace them. (crystal heart can be found in gold crates, you can get baits from Can of Worms in the surface chests)
I Am Loot!: Just don't open gold chest (not sure whether marble, ice etc. chest counts, if not, this could be easier.
Drax Attax/Photosynthesis/Get a Life: It should be pretty difficult to beat the game with 400 life and no Chlorophyte-based gears, but with the buffed hallowed armor, it should be possible (may require lots of skills)
Temple Raider: You can use rod of discord to enter the temple.
Star Destroyer: You can beat three pillars, then hop to another world and use Celestial Sigils (and this does not trigger Like a Boss according to wiki) to summon Moon Lord.
Head in the Clouds: Maybe, it could be very difficult without wings, but should be possible.
The Cavalry: Just leave the mount in your inventory.
Matching Attire: Maybe possible missing a piece.
Other maybe:
You Can Do It!: Possibly can be missed by using two characters to take half of each night or by dying in the night.
It's Getting Hot in Here: Maybe possible by digging a tunnel (with a platform bottom) just above the underworld, then dig downwrads to send the guide directly to the lava in the underworld, and beat WoF on the platform (or possibly use some Boulder statues mechanisms form the mechanism found in the dungeon)
Overall, the main challenges to beat the game are using No Chlorophyte-based gears, 400 max life, 20 max mana, no wings, no NPC housing (so you need to protect the NPCs you found and only certain NPCs can be used).
The number should be 8. But is there any other ideas, like reduce the number or any other achievements must be complete?
