PC Does a lake larger than 300 do anything?

So I know that a lake of 300 is the minimum for not having junk catches (more for oceans) but I can not find anything that says if a lake that is BIGGER than 300 increases my chance of getting crates (Stockpiling before hardmode).

In lakes bigger than 1000 you can catch a salmon, but I think that it's the only change.

There is no fishing benefit to having a lake size > 300 tiles. There is a penalty if the lake size is < 300 tiles. (Oceans require 1000 tiles.)

I find that a lake size of 300 tiles plus a Golden Rod and a Worm as bait is good enough for all sorts of catches without getting junk.
