Items Embiggening Syringe: An NPC defense item.

An Embiggening Syringe is an item that can be bought from the Witch Doctor in Hardmode after defeating Golem. One can be purchased for 10 gold coins. It resembles a syringe with purple liquid in it.

It is a consumable item that can be thrown at NPCs to make them much stronger and larger. Their attacks are made 50 percent stronger, and they gain triple the health that they have. NPCs will also occasionally do a slam of the fist on enemies that deals 50 damage. This effect lasts for approximately 5 minutes. However, they lose defense points.

Helps for invasions.

If you right click with it, you get the buff yourself, and you will gain a 50 percent boost in all forms of damage and triple health as well. However, you become a lot easier to hit given the size you become, and you suffer a 20 defense point drop.

Tooltip: "Gives one the power of giants"

It is a reference to Attack On Titan.

i don't really support this as size changes are weird... and giving yourself 50% damage for *only* -20 defense is rather broken as you seemingly don't suffer movement issues
also it being post golem just means that you get to make your npcs stronger for like 2 bosses, and by the time the invasions roll around you are more than equipped to handle them especially with the right gear

Good point..

How about this:

- could be obtained as soon as one mechanical boss dies
- it could be a damage boosting syringe, and it could come in variants for melee, ranged, magic, and summoning? Melee could be Brawn Syringe, Magic could be Intelligence Syringe, Ranged could be Dexterity Syringe, and Summoning could be Master Syringe.
- no size change
- the syringe increases 50 percent damage for that class, BUT lowers other classes' damage by 25 percent and provides a speed reduction of 20 percent, along with 40 defense drop
- A Enlightening Syringe can be tossed to NPCs to double their damage, but lower their defense by 40 for 5 minutes.

What if you just take multiple syringes? 30% increase to the damage types instead?
 
It would be cool if it was only NPCs, but buffing yourself with 50% damage is pretty absurdly strong, especially for a consumable that doesnt have any opportunity cost like an accessory does. Even with the downside of minus defense and speed, 50% extra damage will demolish bosses.

Another thing to point out is that the minus speed doesn't affect mounts, meaning that itll be 50% extra damage for just less defense on a mount.

this is ok but i'd like to fix these :

-30% damage boost because 50% is far too much, you should get more defense downside over the offense upside to make it at least seemingly more worth it if you know how to dodge well, or you can make it a damage resistance cut of smth like 30% too because that way you'll take a bunch of damage from a single hit but deal a lot of damage in your own hits
-it should have a debuff like potion sickness which doesn't allow you to use more than one of them at once
it would be fun to see different (extra) downsides for each class
you lose 10% melee speed with the melee one, you consume double the ammo with ranger, you have 20 less mana as mage, and you lose one minion slot as a summoner
maybe with these you can have some more damage boost, idk how to fix the ranger one being somewhat a weak extra downside

edit : I still think this shouldn't be a thing but it's never cool to just say "no"

I think the NPC growing thing is funny but the fist slam attack probably wouldn't make sense in the game, and using it on yourself seems like it just shouldn't be included for several reasons.

Kinda cool. Basically like Tipsy, but on steroids that also enlarges you, from what I can tell.
