PC First time launch on steam will not launch

ive tried every fix i could find across various threads and youtube videos. nothing works, the launcher pops up and then immediately disapears before it does its first time launch setup. if anyone knows of a way to fix this there are apparently hundreds of new players with this issue due to the update.

ive noticed that most of the launch issues are stemming from the update and players that have never downloaded terraria previously. only 1.4 versions have this issue. hopefully the devs will find a fix for this since a large portion of their player base cannot even launch the game.

By any chance have you used Tmodloader previously? We have at least some reports of a similar launch failure that was resolved by clearing out old Tmodloader installations that were causing a conflict.
