Fishing in Lava with Master Bait & Lavaproof Fishing Hook while Riding Lava Shark doesn't seem to work

Tried fishing for awhile while riding under the lava with lava shark, didn't get anything
Tried fishing while riding on a platform above lava didn't work
Got off mount, fishing seemed to work?

Thinking its a bug

what fishing rod are you using? Have you tried fishing while riding other mounts? Did you have any mods/addons/plugins?

I just tested this (on mobile,) fishing while riding the Lava Shark submerged in lava doesn't work (which is intended,) but when I fished while riding the Lava Shark outside of lava, it worked just fine. Lava fishing can take a really long time, so maybe you didn't wait long enough when you were outside of the lava?

No mods, no other mounts tried. On PC
Using the crimson crafted rod... Don't remember name of it.

Likely need to increase your fishing power and make sure you're using accessories or lava bait so you can fish in lava in the first place

Fleshcatcher + Master Bait + Fish Potion (and crate potion if it matters) 22 + 50 + 15 = 87? I was getting catches pretty consistently with this

I don't think you can catch anything if you're in the liquid.

I'll try again later tonight on the mount but not in liquid giving a larger sample size

You can't catch fish if you are in the same body of water as your fishing rod, so it's probably the same for lava.

To fish in lava you need either lavaproof fishing hook, lava bait, or the hotline fishing line
