Console Game crashing and progress loss, online multiplayer

I was playing online with my brother, even after about 3 hours of play, his game suddenly froze, and when he reopened the game, all of his progress was gone. We weren’t doing anything major, I was mining a meteor and he was just running on the surface. We are very early game too, so it shouldn’t have been any items. Since it was his first time with that character, it got completely reset and everything was lost

Same thing happened to my wife. She crashed and when she loaded back in all progress was lost

I have this bug as well, so far manual saving seems to work.

I had tge same issue but I didn't crash, just saved and exit but when u come back all changes in the world have remained but I lost all progress.
