PC game won't launch on steam

The Destroyer
whenever I try to launch the game from steam, discord, shortcut, or anything, it won't launch! it will say "running" for about 2 seconds, and then it just goes back to "ready to play." if anyone knows how to fix it, or even why it happens, please let me know.
 
Let's enable logging to see what error is being thrown. After logging is enabled trigger the crash again and fetch the log and paste the contents here.

Verify the integrity of your game cache through steam. Right click Terraria and select properties, then switch to the "local files" tab and select "verify integrity of game cache". Let me know if that resolved it for you.
