I recently wiped my PC from a ransomware infection. Now every time i try to launch terraria i get an error message, heres an image of it. https://imgur.com/a/3eSAm
Ive reinstalled the game several times and that hasnt helped. I had my characters and world saved to the cloud. I also tried to install the game on my laptop but got the same error. Ive reached out to reddit and the terraria discord and no one seems to be able to find the solution. If anyone has a solution please let me know.
Edit: I've found a solution. I had to uninstall terraria, delete any and all files related to it, shut off steam cloud, and reinstall the game. The problem was my old world and characters were encrypted by the ransomware still and got saved to the cloud somehow. Ill have to start from scratch but at least the game runs now. I hope someone finds this useful in the future.
