WIP "Guaranteed Crits" weapon mechanic

In TF2, some weapons don't have critical hits randomly. Instead, they only cause critical damage upon certain criteria. For example, the Back-burner crits from behind, the Axtinguisher crits on burning players, the Wrap Assassin's bauble crits from afar, the Gunslinger crits after a 3-hit combo, etc.

What if a similar mechanic was in Terraria?
Example:
The Water bolt could crit underwater

What are your ideas for situational crits on weapons?
Also this idea comes from a dream with a Magic-Missike style "Bee Staff" that crits on Honeyed enemies

Terraria has a lack of a strategic rock paper scisors element. This would be a cool idea.

Well, it has been mentioned already, but fire-based weapons (such as the flamelash or flamethrower) should crit whenever they hit an "slimed" enemy. It would actually make the slime gun useful.
