For my first guide/thread, I will address the Moon Lord and how UNLOCK HIM, not BEAT HIM! There are many things that are required before you can fight him.
1. Have a hardmode world. All of the bosses will be in hardmode, so of course you'll need this.
2. Beat the 3 mechanical bosses. You have to beat the Twins, The Destroyer and Skeletron Prime. You will need the summoners for them, and these are the recipes:
Mechanical Eye 3 Lens, 6 Souls of Light, 5 Iron or Lead bars.
Mechanical Worm: 6 Rotten Chunks or Vertabrae, 6 Souls of Night, 5 Iron or Lead bars.
Mechanical Skull: 30 Bones, 3 Souls of Light, 3 Souls of Night, 5 Iron or Lead bars. Then slay each boss.
3. Find Plantera's Bulb and slay Plantera. Plantera's bulb can be found in the Jungle. Plantera is a little harder boss. She can go through blocks, and it is reccomended to carve out and build an arena for the fight. Plantera will go through blocks, so and arena will help you move around a lot.
4. Get the Temple Key, find the Temple, and slay the Golem. The Temple will be a big orange structure hidden in the depths of the Jungle, and you will need the key to unlock the door. The Temple can be found closer to the Underworld. Once inside, there will be lots of traps, so you might want to destroy them. There will be a good amount of mobs, like Flying Snakes and Lizarhds. The Lizarhd Power Cell is needed for the summoning, and you need to find the alter. After this, the Golem will fall down from the ceiling. He will attack with his fists by launching them on a chain, using fireballs, using lasers (when lower on health), and eventually the Golem will launch his head off and the actual Golem will be there. Slay the Golem after this.
5. Go to the dungeon, find the Cultists, and Fight and Slay the Lunatic Cultist. The 4 cultists will be at the dungeon "praising" the Moon Lord, and there will be 2 Lunatic Devotes and 2 Blue Cultist Archers. After attacking them, the archers will attack you. After they are slain, the Lunatic Cultist will spawn. The Cultist will stand still for a few seconds, absorbing power from the mysterious tablet, and than attacking you. The Cultist will use magic attacks and will teleport around the sky, as you fight him. After you slay him, the next part starts.
6. Fight and defeat the Lunar Events. These events are 4 pillars that spawn around your world (2 pillars per half of the world). You will tell if you are near by:
1. The background will change.
2. The music will change.
3. The enemies will change.
The 4 pillars are the:
Vortex, Stardust, Nebula and Solar. Each pillar represents a different type of weapon:
1. Solar for melee.
2. Stardust for summoning.
3. Nebula for magic.
4. Vortex for ranged.
Each pillar has a different type of mob type and theme. Now, there is a shield around each pillar when you first see it. To destroy it you need to kill 100 of the type of creature that spawns there (EX. 100 of Nebula creatures).
When each pillar is killed, a different status message appears:
1st pillar destroyed: "You're mind goes numb..."
2nd pillar destroyed: "You're overwhelmed with pain..."
3rd pillar destroyed: "Otherwordly voices linger around you.."
4th pillar destroyed: "Impending doom approaches..."
This indicates the Moon Lord is spawing.
6. The Moon Lord.
It takes a minute for the Moon Lord to spawn once the last message appears. This is a preperation phase. During this time, these things happen:
1. The screen shakes.
2. The music goes to a low volume.
When the Moon Lord spawns, the screen flashes white, and then he is there. It is reccomended that you build a platform with the nurse on it and solid blocks on it.
