Flask & Vella the Latias
Terrarian
Well, here we are, a main post of the main hub. I guess I'll put up my future playthoughs there. Oh, I guess I can share another one after I infamously abandoned Thartler (oops.)
So whatever, let's see what we got there.
(Keep in mind I put screenshots, but whatever)
New day, new fishing, and now it's time for Angler Pants. That's 20 fishing quests milestone!
Thartler: *spews into beard* These news... I could use Palladium, why Titanium?
Sorry Nageru, but Trotkojew needs that dagger to... uhh... (did I even use it?)
After grind in the Crimson, Golden Shower is now ready... but it probably won't defeat Destroyer...
...even when reforged.
Oh, Chaos Fish? I guess Trotkojew can now make teleport potions too! And then, making arena, he decided to test his luck...
...and despite Spazmatizm dealing the most damage, even without skybridge, he defeats the Twins... so, what now?
It's a Magical Harp! This'll beat the Destroyer...
...okay, why did you take so much damage, Trotkojew? Maybe because-
HEY, PLANTSZASA, GET OVER THERE! I caught someone using only Angler Armour there! (I honestly thought I'd die because of wrong set, and got too cocky. Was fishing for my defence, thus the crates.) The only one left was Dr. Prime Bones.
Blood moon + Skeletron Prime = Interesting challenge, I guess...
Fun fact - Although arms are better off destroyed, you can skip them and kill Prime without destroying his arms. Seems like lucky charm too...
Aaaaand Moon Charm for Celestial Charm is there. Now, he needs Adhesive Bandage from them...
...which he got as well
.
Nice knowing ye', Molten Hamaxe and Mythrill Pickaxe, but you shall now go into storage.
Thartler: I see you having Djinn's Curse and Blindfold... and wearing my shoes, Trotkojew. Once I completed Ankh Shield and went to defeat Moon Lord... to die. Nurse is not an easy win.
Sometimes you need rather... creative ways to combat the overpopulation. Like remaking the glowing shroom farm into the NPC hotel.
Well, that's the second Bottomless Water Bucket too. It'll be worth it once the has to fight Moon Lord. And only if everything else fails, as I don't really want to kite Moon Lord with Cute Fishron, even if it saves a Nurse.
Why start the episode from the grind for Golden Fishing Rod, Cellphone and the others, when you can show THIS screenshot?
Oh, and Tackle Box too.
...yeah, I just wonder how lazy Trotkojew is... or perhaps he's trying to give me an achievement of Supreme Fisher Minion? (At the moment I write this I only need 20 quests to do this.)
"This will be useful..." - Someone could say. Titanium is safe, but has kinda sluggish DPS. I wonder if there aren't better options by now... And Life Fruit is just 5-6 more HP per use, boring but practical.
...again!? I thought Department of Redundancy Department wasn't the one making this game for Trotkojew! (There's third one too.)
Seems pretty sad he can no-sell your petrification, medusa...
A-HA! Here you are with the Extendo Grip! Elusive Travelling Merchant is not that elusive, seems like...
That's it, a Cellphone. I... wait, you do plan to beat Snow Golems up too? Well, add to the list "better wings".
With determination, two lengthy sets are done before Plantera. Am I stretching it?
DORD in action - why give me right weapons when I can get a wrong one? Or why get every reward when... oh wait, I was to say something. I attempted to beat Plantera, but died. Rematch? She disappears. I might need way bigger arena for that.
Trotkojew was grinding... for something. Something that would make the chances fair for once. Philosopher Stone for potions. He also brought Crystal Ball ( and got use for Magic Dagger.)
But it wasn't the focus. Ankh Shield was important too.
"Literally getting Armor Polish on the way fishing... yeah, this is pretty hardcore."
And now the shield is completed. Niiiiice.
Although useless prefix. Bah.
Yeah, yeah, bard, we don't need your Magical Harp singing everywhere, but I admit, this is going to do wonders on them. Oh, and finally can get better weapon. Namely Inferno Fork. And better set. Sceptre Armour. Although Pure masked set is worse, we can hybridize it. Just switch to Hallowed for DPS, Titanium for dodge, Hood for healing, sweet healing.
Dungeon Loot kinda works, but Trotkojew had to max the HP, if he thought to stand any chance to Golem.
I can't keep myself from screenshoting the shrines, too shiny :S.
Am I insane to try that at my dungeon? Probably, maybe not. Dungeon is DEATH, though.
We're done grinding for Master Ninja Gear for now.
#obligatoryClentaminatorInThePlaythough. Oh wait, and I got Magnet Sphere, what I was thinking by not mentioning it?
Ooooh, I can now move that gear up! Well, the Golem Arena.
-5% damage seems like little tradeoff for 8% critical chance.
Also, damage modifiers have diminshing returns. To double the damage again, you'd need 200%, then 400%... except Critical Chance, which tops at 100% and abruptly stops.
I need either: Potions or the Hood. But Hood works good. And Moon Stone means we're at 2/4 on Celestial Shell!
Of course I've reforged my staves at Mythical, because it just... works.
Next plan? Frost Moon and Duke Evasive Fishron. For Bubble Gun, Razorblade Typhoon, Razorpine and Blizzard Staff.
And no, fairy counts into the price.
So whatever, let's see what we got there.
(Keep in mind I put screenshots, but whatever)
Our hero for this playthough is a slavic-sounding lawyer that doesn't really know how to defend physically. However, his bewitched aura lets him use weapons he usually wouldn't touch - magical weaponry.
Meet Trotkojew and his guide. Well, he was kinda lost in the world, and unsure what to do, he explored left. Seems like it held a snowy cavern. However, he let himself slip into ground, passing out.
(My mistake, aight?) His abilities did include the ability to wake up in the world, and at the same time, was his curse. The lawyer came to the left, where he hoped there won't be any accidents to be ashamed of.
His first coin portal left him with hefty amount of coins, but playing safe, he placed them on ground, still defenceless against the monsters. He thendiedfainted again, because well, he had slipped too deep.
Another wake-up, another day, right?
Turns out if he moved into previous cave, he'd have a tedious, yet early-game useful weapon - wand of sparking. To his surprise, it actually clicked in his hands, alas it worked. Interested, he quickly began to abuse the world out of his new weapon...
...and then he found a hook. An usual hook. Normally useless, but it could work for now, without taking as much as Topaz (which had no Tin to make the staff of).
So he decided to return to a cave after making a grappling hook - and here it was. Menacing Blizzard in a Bottle. The best DPS reforge, although only works with 25+damage weapons... or less, if he actually got his hands on it. He momentarily did regret he made an unnecessary anvil, but he lived... er, passed out again. He underestimated a trap near health crystals...
...and the nighttime too. From the collective raids, he got so close to completing the Ten Stars of Mana. He also had found five heart crystals at that point.
The Pharaoh Curse of RNG Pyramids strikes back! But gold nonetheless was worth it. What sort of pyramid-makers did that, though?
An interesting world-gen strikes back, but Trotkojew is no warrior, besides the sword there wouldn't be worth it if it was fake.
Then he found Angler... and he was left to drown. Cruelty indeed, but nothing he could help for, though.
"You serious? I'm a lawyer, not a melee' weapons guy... that isn't Heavy."
- When you notice Spelunker potion eases your life in general, ame- er, Sapphire staff is long due.
And again, not the weapon Trotkojew would like, but Magic Mirror helps like usual.
And in spite of that, he couldn't get rid out of bats despite getting enough materials for Ruby Staff (not making it though, which was a mistake).
So he came back and found a heart statue and Ice skates. Pretty useful, mind you, for it is one of materials for either Arctic Diving Gear or Frostspark Boots.
A Nymph was located and killed shortly after, valiantly... well, not so, but Trotkojew still had beaten her to the death.
Tired and having enough loot for today, he returned to his newly-made village. Which was pretty small.

We're back to what this Slavic person was doing again... ah yes, the building.
Trotkojew definitely had a talent to architecture. And now, alone, had enough time to build this castle. This also was for now his new base, but he hoped to expand it with armoury, crafting stations and whatnot.
After that, he went to find a treasure - Hermes Shoes. Given his pretty bad luck trying to find them, though, it won't be an easy task.
...this wasn't what he looked for, not even close enough.
However, more crystal hearts always helped the survivability.
This would be useful for Philosophers Charm instead... if he went far enough.
...are you kidding us RNG? Whoope Cushion means a fart in a bottle! I mean - this is... hmm, third or fourth ever gotten? And second that I got early on.
Sometimes hearts make a lovely pair, though.
Miners shirt, eh? This'll work...
Shoe Spikes too... not as useful, but he took that anyway, maybe he could fish climbing claws soon in Hardmode?
Dungeon at the left, and the improbable Waterbolt was there. Maybe he could do without it for now, as a test of his skills of using other weapons than that... would feel too cheaty to use it for now, especially as he didn't beat any boss yet.
Travelling Merchant was kind enough to give two Gizmo Pack accessories and one Cellphone accessory. This was last screenshot of that day.
And the next day was digging deeper for... something. He was trying to find extractinator for a diamond staff, and the evasive Hermes Shoes...
...you kidding me again RNG!? This puts Trotkojew at 27 diamonds - enough to make a staff, a robe, and still needing only 6 more for a hook too! Oh, and the FIRST MINING SET IN ANY PLAYTHOUGH?
Thartler had his head blasted off by Thartlers Vortex Beater.
The chest was pretty uninteresting, though.
Two Webbed chests, two Webbed chests, loot one and pass it around. One Webbed Chest... (a pun on @Siverko joke.)
Yeah, I'm skipping tedious stuff sometimes...
This, though, was an improvement for sapphire robe, which he used for the two days. Survivability would be one-upped by this, especially in boss fights (even though he's still squishy).
Hey, Underground Desert is not as hard as someone could predict!
He was already full from all that haul, though. And the mana star could help in future arenas, if he had to make one.
And Extractinator? Hoh boy, it's a holiday all over again!
Exact amount of ores > Too much > Not enough ores (however, you can't have too much in Terraria, heh.)
His new diamond staff was Ruthless - meaning he could deal more damage with it. A lot more raw damage, but Mythical could be better. It's just a preference.
Radar. This will help...
So will Money Through and Shark Tooth Necklace. Which ups the damage in expert mode by 3.75 (rounded up - 4), for most weapons anyway. And it's the only one that ignores armour that mages can use.
Him getting Staff of Regrowth and Feral Claws for mining exclusively is good enough.
I would've done this at chest, but the hornets didn't make peace, they made a war.
Here you went, you evasive Hermes Boots! *this ends the unlucky streak of like 10-20 chests*
Damnit, I knew I should have invested in the mana potions. But alas, we got leftover lens from blood moon, we shall try to beat him twice over...
... I guess you needed a potion to defeat a boss... To avoid future J-tapping though, Trotkojew has to invest in more potions...
...and after a death to Brain of Cthulhu, he somehow got Crimson Rod. And meteorite fell, but I'd feel like Space Gun would be an easymode on its own, so I've tried to do BoC on the stuff I now have... and both weapons do exceptionally against it. Maybe I should try branching off as far as I could? But one for sure - now he has the upper hand.
He also got two more Cellphone parts in meanwhile. GPS could also work, when he finally finds a Mechanic or if he gets a lucky drop from all the bats or piranhas.

Today we hope to defeat Skeletron so the Waterbolt would wound up be justifiable to use. And for this deed, Bee Gun sounds really g-
Scratch that, we're gonna fight Goblins first. Tinkerer was long overdue.
Sloped Arena? That's it, a game over to them Goblins. Was fun while it lasted.
Meanwhile Trotkojew decided he went fishing tonight. Eventually, he'll need any bar he could squeeze from that to stand a chance for mech bosses.
...as well as good weapon.
That makes it 3/4 of the Green Horseshoe Balloon
And it's done after short fishing session.
A Goblin happens, so Trotkojew decided to rescue him for his stuff. What, he accepted payment in his world in items and money alike!
Some testing later I decided for going with my idea, so it was good that Whoopee Cushion happened. /tinkersessionend
Well, he reforged his accessory to Menacing. Would do for now.
RNG, if you don't give me Aglet, I'll bury you alive.
Climbing Claws? Now he could use THAT for a combination!
...
After lots of pain being dealt by the missing Aglet, he eventually wound up getting it after 10-20 streak of non-Aglet ones.
And now RNG got drunk or gave up... since he got a Bezoar.
Flower Boots!? Jeeze, it's literally the Flowerbootapocalypse!
Nature Gift? HOW!? I thought he was doing "find Anglet of Wind", not "RNG gives him crazy luck"!
A grind came to end with a lucky-prefixed one, as if they predicted this will happen sooner than later.
Menacing Mana Flower, Frostspark Shoes, now I'm good with that.
So yeah, time for Queen Bee...
...and she dies way too easily. (the next one I failed because I got too cocky about my abilities, then I grinded her more because well... she didn't give me Bee Gun.
...so yeah, this is Trotkojews current equipment for Skeletron.
He had beaten Skeletron too (and his ridiculous luck kicked in so he got both his trophy and his mask. 1 down, more to go.
His dungeon luck started at Intense Waterbolt and Shadow Key. Pretty good, eh?
Jeeze, Trotkojew, you just HAD to be lucky, right?
Aqua Scepter... this will work.
And Cobalt Shield and Magic Missile. Hey! This actually works! (maybe I should invest in killing Tim or travelling merchant or whoever else...)
Bonus: 0/10 worst chest ever. (Hey, I got Grand Design at least. And GPS too, as well as unexpected Robot Hat. Although I think I'll still do formal Trotkojew, if he gets his stuff actually.)

This time we're set for Hardmode... almost. Since we still need some items from it, mostly... well, uhh... nothing actually, maybe I was mistaken?
He began from what he felt would be worth it - Wizard Hat. 15% magic damage increase on top of 10% critical chance at a fair tradeoff to defence seems fair.
Blood Moon aka DORD strikes back. At that moment I feel like hardmode will start with someone dead.
That's not good enough!
Oh my, third best fishing rod... now!? Gimme gimme! (And was gimme)
At this moment I feel like I've done everything in Prehardmode except convenient hellevator. Also, fun fact - Arctic Diving Gear protects you from the chilled by the Snow Biome water in Expert mode.
He did it, the holy grail of any run, Hellevator!
Arms Dealer: Psst, Trotkojew, I'll pay you in permit for Witch Doctor to stay if you drop that Guide Voodoo Doll there.
Trotkojew: Sure, and what's it about?
Arms Dealer: "I have trouble with Brandon."
Trotkojew: "Then away with it, the doll!"
Dead Wall of Flesh doesn't speak much. Also notice these Vaterbolts!
Oh, Light and Dark? We'll see about that:
Jungle is endangered, Hallow took half of desert, some Ice Biome...
I got Sorcerer Emblem at first try.
Having not a lot of crates though, opening them all for what tiny amounts of stuff there were, forced Trotkojew to do something differently.
Smash the altars, and the best crits are there, but so are most of these raw stats. Nimbus Rod and Desert Lamp - those two would be useful now with the new Hardmode. And since Hallow spawned pretty short of desert, we could grind it for Sky Fracture. But now that Pirate Seal is gone, he will have to be fast. Despite being bewitched by magic, he can't manifest anything (can't use summon damage).
Current run:
Killed:
King Slime - x3
Eye of Cthulhu: x2
Brain of Cthulhu
Skeletron.
Queen Bee: x4
Wall of Flesh.

Trotkojew, knowing his new limitations, decided that finding Adamantite or Titanium armour is a priority. Then he has to defeat Twins for the souls of Sight, they'd be pretty useful for creating the new spells.
And yet despite lack of logic that happened when Trotkojew used Ice Rod to defeat a mimic, it was worth it - Cross Necklace. (Well, SS of the wizard not shown). And did that for Crystal Storm, theoretically an upgrade to the Ice Rod. Rattatata, Crystal Storm!
Darn. Fairies apparently can go through 1.5 block thick gaps in the wall.
Prismite... seems useful. Thank RNG I bought a fishing rod for that.
...and then this happened. To be honest, it's excellent find, could make fights easier... at least against Sand Elemental, where I need two Forbidden Fragments.
"Oh, don't mind thar, we're just showing off after killing a wyvern."
Menacing... this doesn't look like showing off, but rather having a real boon!
And then Sky fracture. 24% crit chance would be useful, as it means unwritten 63 damage per projectile, just more luck-based.
In the image it's 39%. Not shown is me getting Frost Wand from first beaten Frost Elemental.
Weather Radio, that makes 10/12 of Cellphone.
Hey, we can now skip once per moon phase!
Okay, it's not usual to Mimic to spawn aboveground, but hella useful.
"Continue fishing then, and make 1/3 of Titanium and 2/3 of Adamantite set..."
Shortly said - Nope, I won't risk NPCS to sure death (except that one Leeroy called Clothier)
This'll help for hunting the werewolves...
One hallow raid later, Megaphone and Trifold Map were gotten.
At first got Intense, but frankly Demonic works better with bonus DPS anyway, 5% additional crit chance. Mana is not a trouble in that case.
The plan is following: Mine enough Adamantite to make a full set, or fish 24 more titanium. Then we'll see what we can do.

...okay, why did you take so much damage, Trotkojew?
Now, he needs Adhesive Bandage from them...
...which he got as well
Nice knowing ye', Molten Hamaxe and Mythrill Pickaxe, but you shall now go into storage.
