You might try replacing that platform with a solid floor, it doesn't look useful anyway. But I'm thinking a more likely explanation is that it's simply too close to the Crimson. Nobody wants Face Monsters for their neighbor.
I placed that platform trying to fix it, as it wasn't working even when it was a solid floor. It might be the crimson like you said though, I'll try scooting it over a bit.
