Houses in Hell...

I was told using a house built in the Underworld could be a safe option for some NPCs in hardmode... but I am having trouble with enemies spawning inside the buildings.

I have fixed up an obsidian house, including laying entirely new back-walls made of obsidian brick, but I am still getting imps spawning inside the house.

Is it not possible to build a house of obsidian brick in the underworld? I thought back-walls prevented enemy spawns. Is it that material that is doing this?

If you have 3 or more NPCs in an area no hostile mobs will spawn, however events (blood moon, goblin army etc.) bypass this reduction.

So... even if I build a house from different materials I will still get Fire Imps spawning in the house? Until I have three NPCs in there?

the spawn rate will lower for each NPC until you have three in the area. and yes it most likely will.

Thanks for the help... so this isn't a bug from the house being made of obsidian - I will still get underworld enemies like Fire Imps spawning *inside* the houses?
