How to make an NPC like crowded places

I'm curious to know if it would be possible to make a custom NPC that likes when the place is crowded. All NPCs from the mods I have hate them, and I wonder if it's hard-coded in, or if it can be made that the NPC likes it, or at least doesn't hate it.

This is most likely hardcoded logic, where if more than X NPCs are in an area, they feel crowded.

Your best bet is to look through the vanilla source and see if it's even able to be edited.

The princess NPC likes to be crowded so there must be something in the code.
