I just picked up 750 platinum coins off the ground after a slime rain event. Did a person on the server cheat it, or is this some insanely rare drop of some sort??? Or... A bug?

After looking around a bit on the wiki and a list of known issues for the PC version, it doesn't seem like this is a glitch, and it is highly unlikely that it was a rare drop.

Sure it was platinum coins and not platinum ore?

Turns out it was a cheat. Thanks to the community (on here and reddit) for informing it was definitely NOT a bug.
