Well, let me start by saying that I'm not using any kind of hack, or any mod, and my Terraria isn't a cracked version.
I've been playing Terraria for a while now and I noticed lately that it's performance FPS-wise are deteriorating, and today I've encountered a very weird... Bug? So let me explain this to you.
I play a Co-Op with a friend and we're pre-celestial at the moment, however during these last events we've done I've encountered problems with FPS.. While it should be 50-60 in most cases, my FPS drops to 1-2 and at it's top barely reaches 22. I thought that it's just my computer overheating, or something of that matter. However, none of that is right.
We're playing via Steam invitation.
Another thing to keep in mind is that, I lose connection quite often, and in those few seconds before I lose connection my FPS sparks back to normal. But when I lose connection, it's not my internet's problem, neither my friend's. I ignored this too, and I'd just get invited again and we'd continue playing.
In these series of days, I've been getting poor performance. Terraria should start quickly with a single click on the "Play" Button, however it'd take minutes, and sometimes double click and even shut down process to retry.. And it doesn't even fade in, it just pops up infront of Steam.
Today, I started my Terraria up and everything was fine, the computer was very cool so I had my FPS at 30, compared to the usual 50+. The plan was to fight Duke Fishron, so we've gathered our stuff and went to make an Arena. I was placing stone blocks towards the edge of the Ocean, and he was placing statues etcetera, about 6 blocks away from the edge, Terraria froze. Well.. This happened quite often lately so I'll just restart it.
However, when I restarted Terraria, this is where the game started going bollocks. It took 2 clicks and shutting down the process before it started, and when it did, I noticed something very off. There were some weird lines on the screen;
I ignored this, and asked him to invite me; so he did. The game loaded smoothly until "Receiving Tile Data: Complete"; at this point the game "froze", well.. The game itself shut down Steam, and I thought that I just minimized it. Well, I pressed "Cancel", the game stopped working.. It's fine, I can always reboot.. Well, I rebooted my game and Steam and the same thing happened. It'd last a few seconds in the Complete Tile thingy, the game would shut down Steam and Sometimes it even shuts down by itself.
I took my friend's advice and restarted the computer, the lines disappeared but the same thing is happening.
Any idea what would be causing this? Terraria's non-playable for me multiplayer-wise at the moment..
Any questions about my specs or anything of that matter are welcome.
