A pair of black headphones with a mic. They are an accessory that drop from Mimics in Hardmode. They have Light Purple rarity.
The Lock-In Headset adds 1+ minion and sentry slots, and is avaiable prior to defeating any mechanical boss. The Lock-In Headset also activates an effect periodically that makes summons deal 2 times the base damage per attack for a brief but significant time. You get the Locked In buff and the screen flashes subtly, lasting for 5-7 seconds.
The Lock-In Headset works well with whips.
Tooltip: +1 Minion and Sentry slot, Your summons periodically get to deal 2 times more damage “Gotta lock in”

I like it, but 2.5x damage feels like way to much. how long does it last for, exactly?

brilliant. can we have a post-plantera upgrade
like: master gamer's headset:
RGB headset + 300 spooky wood + chlorophyte+ Hercules beetle+ old ones anglamam (all four sentry accessories combined)
4 Defense
+2 Minion Slots
+5 Sentry Slots
Your summons periodically deal 2.5X more damage
Infinite Night Vision Buff
Grants Light Comparable to Fairy Bell
15% summon damage increase
"if moon lord had ears, he'd probably wear these" or "the headphones of the mighty redigit"

I would make it post moon lord, and make a nerfed version like this to take its place:brilliant. can we have a post-plantera upgrade

Expert gamer’s headset:
1 Defense
+1 Minion slot
+1 Sentry slot
Your summons uncommonly deal 1.5x more damage
Grants light comparable to Fairy Bell
5% Summon damage increase
This would still be ridiculously op, doing what many accessories do one of and doing all in one. (E.g. pygmy neckless, summoner emblem, and monks belt. This would still give a massive random damage buff, but still, this is better for the stage of the game)
Moving the original idea of master gamer’s headset to moonlord means we wouldn’t be forced to nerf it either.

the original RGB headset had 2x damage at random, 4 defense. also, having it have 15% damage to match the Hercules beetle is fair. I would also have it have an extra sentry slot, as there was the old ones army scarf there.I would make it post moon lord, and make a nerfed version like this to take its place:
Expert gamer’s headset:
1 Defense
+1 Minion slot

other then that, I agree. add 10 luminite bars and 25 stardust particles to the expert gamer's headset and it's balanced. also, I forgot that the Hercules beetle also slightly increases knock back, so it's included. additionally, I think that if this is post moon lord, I think an additional summon slot is warranted. final:
recipe: expert gamer headset, ten luminte bars, papyrus scarab, 25 stardust fragment.
4 Defense
+3 Minion Slots
+5 Sentry Slots
Your summons periodically deal 2.5X more damage
Infinite Night Vision Buff
Grants Light Comparable to Fairy Bell
30% summon damage increase
it looks like the nes flight stick helmet, like with the helmet with a pair of googles, (where the night vision comes from.) it will be stardust colored.
