Hello! Got a quick suggestion for you guys here.
Ever travelled to the bottom of the ocean? Pretty standard, right? Just a whole bunch of water, and you're there to loot chests and get out before you drown and die out. Yet, to me, the Ocean has always looked quite barren. I thought one visual change could make it look more appealing.
So, we know Terraria has some wonky gen, right? It feels pretty wild at times when you spawn on a sky island or in the snow biome, or (and I'm being serious here), a granite biome appears on the surface of your world. Weird worldgen gave me this idea.
Add a Background to the Ocean Floor!
Adding a background as you progress deeper into the ocean gives it more of a feeling of depth, as opposed to more of the same. Here's a mockup (thanks, weird worldgen!).
I thought this looked pretty interesting. Perhaps a kelp forest background, or a coral sea? The Ocean as a whole could use so much more, like critters, more plant life, and more diverse enemies(perhaps a suggestion for another time), but this seems like a step in the right direction.
Let me know what you think! Comments? Thoughts? Suggestions? Have a nice day
