Welcome to the Mario Land Mod!
· Mario Land Discord Server · Mario Land Wiki ·

Have you ever wanted your favourite characters from the Super Mario Bros. franchise in Terraria? Yes? No? Well, whatever the answer, they made it here! Along with costumes that allow a character's complete transformation into Mario, Luigi, and... Wario (!?), there are nine unique Power-Ups, in the form of accessories, that can be equipped to give the player a drastically different experience of abilities, from different attacks to flight and even enhanced movement in water. There are also two oddball additions here: the Hammer Suit and Goomba Shoe, which behave exactly as they do in the games they appear in.
New an unique to the mod are Cap Upgrades, which are an upgraded version of the respective caps (go figure). These only increase certain stats in the game, such as melee damage, health, and defense. These upgrades are purely for stats and don't change anything about the player's abilities as a character, or any visuals.

Here's all of the mod's currently available content:

Super Mario
Turns the player into Super Mario, allowing the player to wall-jump, swim in water, and damage enemies by jumping on them. Any eight or higher consecutive jump heals the player each time. Wearing all three components of the suit (which is required to access Super Mario's abilities) increases the player's melee damage and melee speed.

Super Luigi
Turns the player into Super Luigi, allowing the player to wall-jump, swim in water, and damage enemies by jumping on them. Any eight or higher consecutive jump heals the player each time. Wearing all three components of the suit (which is required to access Super Luigi's abilities) increases the player's health and defense.

Wario
Turns the player into Wario, allowing the player to dash, which increases mobility and can damage any enemy the player dashes into, at the cost of the player's ability to wall-jump and heal by jumping on enemies. Wearing all three components of the suit (which is required to access Wario's abilities) increases the player's health, melee damage and defense.

Character Cap Upgrades

Increase the power of the respective character's armour set bonus (melee damage and melee speed for Super Mario, health and defense for Super Luigi, and melee damage, health, and defense for Wario)
Super Mario and Super Luigi Exclusive Power-Ups
Fire Flower and Ice Flower
As of the current update to the mod, these Power-Ups allow all weapons used to inflict the On Fire! and Frostburn debuffs respectively. In an upcoming update, they will be changed to behave more closely as they do in their in-game appearances.

Super Leaf
This Power-Up grants the player limited flight and slow gliding. The limited flight is initiated by holding the jump button after a running start. Once the player is no longer able to fly, or drops off a ledge without having flown right before, the player will slowly glide down to the ground.

Tanooki Suit
This Power-Up behaves like an upgraded version of the Super Leaf, granting the player with the same benefits. Unlike the Super Leaf, however, the Tanooki Suit gives the player the ability to pause and continue their ascent without disrupting flight, as well as fly for up to four times longer.

Cape Feather
This Power-Up allows the player to fly, much like the previous two Power-Ups. The difference between them is that, while the Super Leaf and Tanooki Suit focus on improving the player's vertical mobility, this Power-Up improves the player's horizontal mobility. In order to use this Power-Up, much like the previous two, the player needs to hold the jump button after a running start. After some time, in order to continue flight if the player were to start gliding down, the player needs to let go of and hold the jump button again. Doing this repeatedly will gain the player tremendous horizontal speed and distance, and could therefore theoretically never require the player to touch the ground will airborne.

Frog Suit*
This Power-Up grants the player enhanced movement when submerged in water, giving the player flipper-like swimming as well as the removal of slowness granted when moving in water. A downside to using this Power-Up is that, while it enhances movement in water, it severally decreases the player's ability to move outside of liquid. When out of water, the player can only move using short, halting hops. Jumping will propel the player vertically as if the player had the frog leg equipped.

Hammer Suit*
When equipped, this Power-Up grants the player a slight increase in throwing damage and critical strike chance, as well as an extra 3 defense. This is the only Power-Up that cannot be obtained by directly crafting it. In order to obtain this Power-Up, the player must first craft the Hammer Suit Set, which, when right clicked in the inventory, gives the player the Hammer Suit and Hammer

Builder Hat
This Power-Up is the only Power-Up that doesn't enhance movement or damage output. Instead, it focuses on building. This Power-Up grants the player increased tile and wall placement speed and reach when worn

Wario Exclusive Power-Ups
Jet Pot
This Power-Up is the only Wario exclusive Power-Up. When worn, along with granting the player increased acceleration, movement speed, and jump height, it allows the player to freeze their current vertical position by holding the jump button while airborne. While in this state, the player can move horizontally while sticking to the same altitude. Letting go of the jump button and holding it again will allow an altitude switch, although this prevents the player from moving further up while using the ability. Any enemies that touch the player from below during this state will get damaged constantly, as if the player is jumping on them. This ability will continue for a short period of time, after which the player begins to glide down to the ground, only able to use the ability again once the ground is touched.

*Despite being named a suit, the Frog Suit and Hammer Suit aren't wearable armour pieces and instead behave like all other Power-Ups, only being active if equipped as an accessory
Hammer Suit Set
The Hammer Suit Set is the only way to obtain the Hammer Suit and Hammer.

Hammer_Suit_Set_(Mario_Land).png

Hammer
Only usable when the Hammer suit is equipped, the hammer can be thrown in an awkward upward arc, damaging enemies in its path. The Hammer is the second component acquired from the Hammer Suit Set

Goomba Shoe
The Goomba Shoe is the only mount in the mod, and when equipped, increases the player's speed and jump height
