While minecarts should be a purely aesthetic choice at this stage, there are still 3 minecarts that provide some bonuses such as glowing, 7 second lava resistance, and not slowing down in water.
The best solution would be to add three more cart upgrades (hydrodynamic wheels, fireproof paint and minecart lamp) that would allow us to upgrade minecarts and choose them based on their appearance only.

This is the only one I'm intentionally omitting. This cart is slower than the others and serves a specific purpose.

Why not just have one kit that does this instead of three? Perhaps combining all three of these karts into a single kit using the tinkerer’s workshop could work?

Using each upgrade separately allows you to activate a new option that is available on each minecart. These would be single-use items, just like the Mechanical Cart Upgrade.

Nah, make minecart vanity slots and one that combines the ability of the three

Previously, the Mechanical Cart was the best cart in the game, so players asked for a social slot for new carts. The developers decided to make the Mechanical Cart a cosmetic cart instead and added the Minecart Upgrade Kit.
So now, instead of creating a super cart and then adding a vanity cart slot, let's just add another Upgrade Kits.
