Hi.
Upon entering hardmode on an expert world that was created before the 1.4 update, I started to farm for butterfly dust to craft the butterfly wings, before killing any of the hardmode bosses. Although the item has a 50% chance to drop upon killing the moth, I farmed for hours and killed 20 of these moths and not a single one dropped the item. However, after defeating all 3 mechanical bosses and the slime queen, i decided to try again and go for the butterfly wings. The first moth I encountered just so happened to drop the item.
My concern is that there were no sites that mentioned if the butterfly dust was obtainable at a certain stage in hardmode. I assumed that it was obtainable immediately upon entering hardmode, but did not get one until after defeating a few bosses. So I was wondering if this is a bug, where the butterfly dust only drops after killing one or more of said bosses.
