Pixel Art My first pixel art/ custom sprite!

I've been trying to make a custom avatar for my account, so I decided to take a shot at a basic player sprite! Tell me what you think, and if you know how to improve it, PLEASE DO!

It would be greatly appreciated it you will trim/crop the image so there's lesser blank space everywhere.

For the sprite itself, it's looking too plain, it lacks some detail and the shading is done too easy.
