PC My game freezes whenever I open singleplayer

Ive been trying to play terraria for ages now, But everytime I press the singleplayer button my game freezes, it doesnt unfreeze ever. Ive also tried to open a world on multiplayer and it just seems to have the same issue but no other tab is like this. Somebody please help
