Console My journey in the Ranger class!

Yesterday, I created a large Classic world (naming it "Rangeria") and a new character (naming it "Ranger"), where I would attempt to beat the game in the Ranger class. I forgot to document some things up until post-Skeletron, so here's a recap:
  • I spawned in, and then began chopping trees.
  • I built a basic, box-shaped house, and got the Guide to move in.
  • I went exploring for a bit east and found a Desert with a Pyramid in it, which yielded a couple items (the most notable of these being a Flying Carpet, which proved to be useful)
  • I then went digging for the Underground Desert, hoping to find an Extractinator so I could craft some throwing weapons and potentially armor. However, I was unable to find it.
  • Around this time, the Merchant and then the Demolitionist had moved in.
  • After that, I continued exploring, eventually heading into a Snow biome. With it quickly becoming dark and having no Recall Potions or Magic Mirrors I found myself constantly cornered by Frozen Zombies but didn't die as I boxed myself in with dirt. I killed these Zombies as well as a few Demon Eyes and got two Snow Hoods and one Snow Pants - those plus a Boreal Chestplate I had crafted gave me a total of seven defense.
  • I then headed home and explored east, finding yet another adjacent desert. This time, it had a cave, and when I went down I saw I was in the Underground Desert. After breaking a pot in this cave I got some gold coins from a coin portal (but died soon after) and then had to spend some time being able to recover these gold coins.
  • Around then the Dye trader moved in because I had picked up Blue Berries.
  • Then I purchased a Piggy Bank and began storing my coins in there. I then continued exploring eastward and eventually encountered the world evil biome, the Crimson, which had been randomly chosen. Around this time I had found just one life crystal from a cave in the Forest near me when I spawned in. I also had fifteen lenses from killing various Demon Eyes. After smashing two Crimson Hearts, I got an Undertaker with 100 musket balls - soon after, the Arms Dealer spawned. This was when I decided to craft two Suspicious Eyes and take on the Eye of Cthulu the following night.
  • Unfortunately, I had forgotten to stock up on additional ammunition during the Eye of Cthulu fight, so I ran out around the time that I had spawned the second Eye of Cthulu. I had just a Rapid Boreal Bow and a few hundred Frostburn Arrows and managed to finish the fight. With my Crimtane bars, I crafted a more powerful Tendon Bow and a Blood Lust Cluster.
  • I then went caving again, and found another Life Crystal, bringing my total health to 140 HP. Then after doing so (and it should be noted that I had only picked up a Raincoat from a Raincoat Zombie, making my total defense be only ten), I decided it was time to fight the Brain of Cthulu.
  • I headed into the Crimson biome and used a Sticky Bomb to reveal the third Crimson Heart and then smashed it (giving me a Warding Panic Necklace, which proved to be very useful in the future), but I hadn't properly taken the time to create a decent arena and had soon died after getting stuck in one of the Crimson holes leading to the Crimson Hearts. I had only killed one Creeper.
  • Frustrated, I tried again, this time stocking up on ammunition and filling the Crimson Cave with platforms that I could easily jump to. I ended up crafting Silver Bullets with some Silver Bars that I had crafted, which would give me increased damage output on my The Undertaker. The Dryad hadn't moved in yet (and she sells Grass Seeds which grow Grass, and Sunflowers can only grow on Grass and Hallowed Grass, and not dirt), so I couldn't add a Sunflower to the arena, but I did add a Campfire.
  • I was much more successful this time and managed to quickly defeat the Brain of Cthulu. I used my Tissue Samples along with Crimtane Bars to craft a Deathbringer Pickaxe - which, as luck would have it, was crafted with the "Light" reforge. I didn't use my remaining material on armor as I was now focused on defeating Skeletron next.
  • After purchasing ammunition from the Arms Dealer I then rushed over to the east side of the map and thankfully that was the side that had the Dungeon. It was the afternoon, so I decided to use the few minutes I had until night began to build a makeshift arena made out of platforms. It also included a Campfire, but I had omitted the inclusion a Sunflower as I forgot to create housing room for the Dryad, which prevented her from moving in.
  • I quickly defeated Skeletron and rushed into the Dungeon. I did this simply for the Necro Armor set, which is another Ranger armor set that is crafted with 135 Cobwebs (which I had made sure to gather while previously exploring caves) and 150 bones. After dying several times (it should be noted that I still only had 140 HP at this time) and also finding a Warding Cobalt Shield (bringing my defense total to 18), I eventually gathered enough Bones and teleported home with an Ice Mirror that I had found while exploring a cave in the Snow biome.
  • I then crafted the Necro Armor.
This is currently what I'm at right now in terms of progression.

Well that is fast, for me at least, I’ve never actually gotten that far. You have NPC’s galore and the Crimtane tool set. I wanna get that far!
It’s kinda nice to see someone get that far in ranged.

Three life crystals, two right next to each other! I also found a fourth life crystal on the other side of this subterranean lake. Those in total increased my max HP to 220 HP. An additional fifth one I found later increased it to 240 HP. Additionally, I found a Cloud in a Bottle, which I replaced my Shackle accessory for.

Also, while running into the Underground Desert biome, I found an Underground Cabin which had a pair of Dunerider Boots inside as well as a Gravitation Potion, which I plan on using to explore Sky Islands. And the Golfer NPC, which I don’t normally encounter in my playthroughs.

Looks like a Goblin Army is approaching. That’ll be good, because it means I’ll be able to get the Goblin Tinkerer NPC.

Right after I posted this, I also applied dye to my armor and some of my accessories.

I found where the Meteorite landed in my world. I’m not sure if I want to mine it to be able to craft a Star Cannon to defeat the Wall of Flesh, or if I’ll just use a Minishark.

Really? What weapon would you suggest for fighting it? I’ve only played the Ranger class casually, so I don’t know that much about it — sorry if I come across like an idiot.
Hellwing bow is an okay choice I'm pretty sure. If you can get the stars, go ahead and use the star cannon.

You can also find this handgun or something in a Dungeon chest that has a powerful Hellstone upgrade.

And never forget the amazing Bee's Knees (plus I think Beenades might be ranged damage).

You're good. Minishark is a bait weapon imo, on the surface it seems really nice but as you progress you kinda notice it do to less and less, this fall off happens pretty quickly too. For Wall of Flesh I recommend Hellwing or Molten Bow, Hellwing being the best choice due to its high piercing and the wide spread isn't that big of a deal since your opponent quite literally takes up the entire screen.

There are some other notable weapons here too
Phoenix Blaster (meteor or party bullets)
Star Cannon (best option but costly)
Bees Knees (homing capability)

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to find one of these while gathering the resources to craft Necro Armor. But I might look again in the future. And never forget the amazing Bee's Knees (plus I think Beenades might be ranged damage).

I’m preparing to explore the Underground Jungle, so if I come across a hive or few, I’ll probably take on Queen Bee and see if I can try to get the Bee’s Knees from that. If not, then I’ll probably try going for the Hellwing Bow.

I kind of figured that, but I wasn’t sure about using it or not.

If I end up also not getting a Hellwing Bow, I’ll probably just use the Molten Fury.

Party bullets have an actual use? I thought they were just novelty.

beenades are indeed ranged

They can only be obtained in pre-Hardmode through Pigronatas, Party Girl sells them in Hardmode and since they're technically a Hardmode bullet they're the highest base damage bullet in pre-Hardmode.

I got a Shiny Red Balloon from exploring sky islands with a Gravitation Potion that I drank - once I get the Goblin Tinkerer I’ll combine it with my Cloud in a Bottle.

By the way, would it be more optimal to keep my Flying Carpet, or to shimmer it into a Sandstorm in a Bottle for an increased double jump height?

Sandstorm would be more helpful for Queen Bee.
Carpet may be more useful for Wall of Flesh in my opinion.

edit: Right, you can't shimmer them into each other, I thought something was weird
