Plus there’s duke fishron, Lepus, pumpking moon, frost moon, ocram, and Turkor. Sadly there is no cultis or moon Lord.

Sorry I don’t have any idea I haven’t played on the 3DS for such a long time. I used the death sickle from Solar eclipse event a lot when I was playing the 3DS.

Yes mega shark is good. If you can get the Chlorophyte Ore and make bullets that’ll work good

Make sure to use all the buffs you can get, especially the endurance potion. The Thorn Balls deal more damage on the 3ds than they do on expert mode. I’ve died to Plantera more times than any other boss combined on that version so have patience.
If you’re willing to do a bit of cheese; when your health is low, go into your menu (this will pause the game) and look at your buffs/debuffs. This will bring down the timer of all buffs and debuffs including the potion sickness debuff allowing yourself to be practically invincible with enough time.
